Ultra 250x

kawasaki_ultra_250x_green_08.jpgSupercharged Excitement

Just ask any drag racer - supercharged is the ultimate path to massive engine power. Supercharging delivers instantaneous throttle response and boost immediately available from idle. In making the JET SKI ULTRA 250X the ultimate personal watercraft, we used a potent direct-drive Roots-type air-pump system that constantly is supercharging the intake mixture. The system pressurises the engine’s inlet tract up to 1.74 times atmospheric pressure - or 11.4 psi. Delivering more air means more oxygen is available for more powerful combustion. But since compressed air builds heat, a massive aluminium intercooler drops the air charge right down to ambient temperature. Now that’s powerful engineering.

Get ready to experience the most powerful, most commanding, and most outrageously fun personal watercraft in history - the all-new JET SKI ULTRA 250X. It’s Kawasaki’s first intercooled and supercharged 1,498cc Marine powerplant and delivers the instantaneous low rpm response of a dragboat that builds up to a class-shattering 250 horsepower* on the top-end. Any questions? They’ll be answered the first time you ride the stunning ULTRA 250X. But we do have one piece of advice before you do. Hang on.

Race Bred Hull Design

Specifically designed to handle the enormous output from the supercharged engine, this race-developed hull handles with precision and stability with a high level of seaworthiness – and at speeds from idle to its rather astounding top end

Supercharged & Intercooled

The Ultra 250X’s liquid-cooled 1,498 cm3, In-line 4-cylinder engine is fitted with a supercharger and intercooler, giving it an output of 250 PS and making it the most powerful production PWC in the world. The roots type supercharger ensures powerful and instant acceleration even from a standing start.

Fuel Injected

New, high-flow fuel injectors with 4 orifices are fitted to complement the increased power output and to improve combustion efficiency. A single throttle body is used with a bore diameter of 60 mm.

Jet Pump

To effectively convert the Ultra 250X’s 250 PS output into thrust, a new 155mm jet pump was designed using eight guide vanes in place of the earlier six. The new pump delivers superior “traction” in rough water conditions and significantly contributes to the Ultra 250X’s mind-boggling acceleration.

Impeller

To suit the 155 mm jet pump a new, larger impeller was designed, offering improved thrust in the higher speed ranges. The sophisticated 3-blade unit delivers both high performance and quiet operation.

Exhaust

The Ultra 250X features a 4-into-2-into-1 powerboat-style exhaust system, which routes the exhaust pipe upwards. This allows the smoothest flow for exhaust gases, maximising exhaust efficiency.

Body Flange & Bumper

The bottom of the hull slants upwards steeply from the centre section to the bow, allowing the Ultra 250X to penetrate swells and waves with less shock. At low speeds the result is great stability; at higher speeds the Ultra 250X’s massive thrust enables the hull to push through waves rather than bounce over the top of them.

Adjustable Handlebars

The handlebars are 5-way adjustable and suit a wide range of riders and riding styles. The relatively narrow seat is very comfortable for either stand-up or seated riding, as well as for passengers.
* Blue colour not available in Australia

Sponsons

Newly developed sponsons minimise porpoising to provide stable straight-line performance while helping to retain the machine’s narrow overall design. They also contribute significantly to the Ultra 250X’s responsive handling when changing direction, particularly at higher speeds.

Quattro KSD

Kawasaki Splash Deflectors (KSD) deflect water splashing forward from under the hull. Whether turning or blasting straight ahead, at high speeds or low, the Quattro KSD minimises spray for enhanced ride comfort.

Large Capacity Storage

The large-capacity, fully sealed 200-litre storage area has plenty of room for recreational equipment. A detachable storage compartment is also fitted.
* Blue colour not available in Australia

Extended Cruising Range

Offering more fuel capacity than any machine in its class, the Ultra 250X’s 78-litre fuel tank holds 14 litres more than the JET SKI STX-15F, making long distance cruising even more accessible and inviting.

Kawasaki Smart Steering

Designed to assist inexperienced riders, the Kawasaki Smart Steering system is electronically linked to an on-board microprocessor and automatically adjusts engine speed and thrust while cornering to ensure a smooth, controlled turn.

Beginner Friendly

The STX-12F features Kawasaki’s innovative electronic Smart Learning Operation (SLO) system which can be programmed to speed-limit the engine to assist novice riders in mastering their riding technique without worrying about excessive speeds.

Rear Boarding Step

A long rear boarding step makes it easy to climb on board in deep water. When not in use, the step retracts neatly inside the bumper to prevent entanglement or damage.

Silent Cleaning System

The Ultra 250X features a silent cleaning system to purge sea water used to cool the engine. Because operation can be done with the seat still fitted, it is virtually noiseless. Fitting a separate connecting tube is quick and easy.
